Nicole Nygaard is a Norwegian artisan with a degree in art and social work from the University of Agder. She is also an aspiring tailor. She has learned couture tailoring through courses at Thomas von Nordheim´s studio in London and at London College of Fashion. She also collaborates with Norges Skredderlaug (The Norwegian Tailor Guild) in order to refine her skills and get the degree in bespoke tailoring that she has been working towards for years.

Nicole Nygaard specialize in ethical production of fitted jackets, skirts and dresses. She uses exclusive, yet ethically-produced wool and linen fabrics from Norway and England, ex. wool from highly experience local artisan Annemor Sundbø Torris Tweed, Krivi Vev Viking Wool, Islay Tweeds, Irish Donegal, Harris Tweed, Marling & Evans ecological tweeds among others.

Other ethical produced materials used in the production are natural peace silk fibres woven in Cambodia. The production does not involve touching or harming the moths, nor does it require keeping them in captivity. Rather their cocoons are collected after the moths emerge and fly away. A cotton based cupro fabric from Bemberg is used in linings and in backs of waist coats. It is breathable, light, durable and feels great to the skin. It is also anti-static and anti-cling for more comfortable wear. Bemberg is ISO 14001 sertified and has a nearly 100 % recycling rate. GOTS certified organic pima cotton is used as pocketing material. To show how dedicated this ethical brand is, whenever possible, YKK Natulon zippers and Gutermann rPET threads are used. We strive to achieve a circular design.
